BINTAN RESORT MAP
Grand Lagoi Village (formerly known as Swiss-Belhotel Lagoi Bay)
We have chosen to stay at Grand Lagoi Village, a 4 star hotel situated in the prime tropical beach area of Lagoi Bay. This luxury property is surrounded by sweeping Bay views, lush tropical greenery and white sandy beaches – it is absolutely an ideal weekend escape from my boring world in Singapore right now.
Totally can imagine myself resting on these gorgeous beach lounge sofa while sipping my favorite avocado fruit juice or a refreshing cocktail.
And not forgetting, to have a fanciful sumptuous seafood dinner by the pristine white sand beach while adoring a lovely view of the sunset.

WHAT TO PACK: THE TRAVEL PACKING CHECKLIST
Whether this is my first trip or not, I find that it’s always helpful to have a checklist of the items that I wish to pack in my luggage/ backpack.
Even as a cabin crew, there are 5 no-go items that we must always carry in our blue handbag to operate flight – Passport (with US VISA for US flights), Crew Pass, SEP card, CEAC Checklist and Safety shoes. You will really get a shock when you found out that you forgot to bring any one of these 5 no-go items during pre-flight briefing.
STEP ONE: CHECK IMPORTANT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
A must-bring item. Ensure your passport has at least 6 months’ validity on the day you plan to leave the country.
Many countries require citizens of other nationality to obtain a visa before they enter their country. Here is a link for VISA quick check for Singaporean citizens.
Flight and Hotel Bookings
Most airlines will now email you the mobile boarding pass with reference ID when you check-in online. Do not fuss when you can’t check in your flight online, you can still do so over the counter and get your boarding pass on the spot.
There are many search engines and mobile apps to get the latest and cheapest deals for hotel bookings. Popular hotel’s search engines are like Trivago, Agoda and AirBnb. Most online hotel bookings will require a valid credit card to guarantee your reservation. An email confirmation with your reservation details and booking ID will be sent as soon as you have check-out from the booking process.
Example of a hotel confirmation with booking ID from Agoda:
STEP 2: PACK YOUR LUGGAGE
Whichever destination you travel to, I will recommend luggage with built-in TSA lock that is lightweight and big enough to pack all your essentials. As for me, I have my trustworthy and durable hard case lojel luggage that I will be packing for this weekend Bintan getaway. I will usually pack a variety of clothing options which I like to mix and match my outfit based on the day’s activities.
Organising Your Stuff
Keeping everything organized in your luggage can be challenging. To make things easier for yourself, is to make sure you use packing organizers like…
This will save your time and hassle to rearrange the entire bag to find your stuff.
Toiletry and Comestic Bag
If you are carrying on, keep your toiletry bag light and TSA-compliant. Liquids, aerosols and gels (LAG) items must be 100ml or less per container and they fit together in a clear zip lock bag. For me, it is essential to bring my facial cleanser, toner and moisturiser that I have to use it daily.
STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR PERSONAL CARRY-ON BAG
- Mobile device
These are the electronic devices that I used to capture some of the loveliest and candiest moment in overseas. It helps to keep me updated of the latest news and trends and/or read my e-book.
Good to bring travel medication like anti-motion sickness medication, medicine for pain or fever, charcoal tablets, etc.
