An Adventurous Weekend Getaway to Bintan (Day 1)

Bintan, Indonesia

Only an hour ferry ride away from our shores, Bintan Island is a terrific destination for many Singaporeans looking for a quick and affordable vacation. A relaxing weekend getaway to Bintan Island is a good choice for newlyweds, couples or friends to unwind after a long week to escape from the bustle of Singapore.

To Get There: Singapore > Bintan

We took one of the earliest ferry departure from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) to Bintan with an estimated time of departure (ETD) at 9.10am on 18 November 2016 (Friday). You can purchase the return ferry ticket from http://booking.brf.com.sg/.

That’s my Brother Andy and I am not too sure if we bear any resembles with each other not. He never fails to tease me or asks me to eat lesser to lose weight. Over the past few months, I have been pushing myself to go gym or exercise to regain back my physique.

Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal

Upon arrival to Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal (BBTFT), I was approached by a local staff and asked if I am from MediaCorp. MediaCorp is one of the main Organizers for Spartan Beast Race so I believe he might have thought I am one of the representatives to help out in this race.

– Getting a local SIM card with data plan is necessary to avoid high overseas data charge and so you won’t get a rude shock when you see your monthly phone bills.

We then took the complimentary hotel shuttle service from BBTFT > Grand Lagoi Village Hotel

Where To Stay: Grand Lagoi Village Hotel

Our comfortable deluxe room for the 3 days 2 nights stay and I love the in-room Samsung Smart TV to play ‘YouTube’ videos.

Clean toilet with rainshower and good toilet ‘lighting’ calls for a selfie!

“Hiao” mode on and can’t help to take multiple selfies before the room becomes messy.

Yippee~ Excited jump shop on the bed!

Ordered the fettuccine with carbonara sauce for room service and it tastes good! Mmmmmm yummy!

Day 1: WakeBoarding Experience

Took the hotel shuttle service to Treasure Island for my wakeboarding experience at Bintan Wake Park.

Mustered the courage to try out this adrenaline-packed activity, wakeboarding and it was a great and successful first attempt! I even managed to do a few ollie jump.

A short 50 seconds clip of me playing wakeboarding. I enjoyed wakeboarding a lot and it was so fun! Really had a whale of a time! Awesome!!

Wish I had someone to share my joy but sometimes I kinda think nobody really cares what I do anyway.. It is just like if my ex were to tell me he has lost 1kg, I also will not give a damn. So blogging is a platform where I like to share my personal accomplishment and happiness with my readers.

Taking a small break to enjoy my cornetto ice cream but my actual favorite ice cream is pistachio flavour. Kinda miss the pistachio ice cream I used to have when I was in Europe – thick, rich and creamy.

Took the next available shuttle service from Bintan Wake Park back to our hotel and had a quick shower before meeting up with the guys for dinner.

Our sumptuous seafood dinner at the “zi char”restaurant in Plaza Lagoi Shopping Mall, a 5 minutes walk from our hotel. I was so famished that I gobbled up most of the dishes. Very hungry…

……End of Day 1…..
