Day 3 – Arriving in Lucerne from Rheinfall

Lucerne is picturesque ancient town on Lake Lucerne, with many notable medieval landmarks to see like the Chapel Bridge and Lion Monument.
Chapel Bridge is one of the town’s most recognizable landmarks, and is Europe’s oldest surviving wooden covered bridge and the world’s oldest truss bridge.
The covered wooden pedestrian bridge which crosses the Reuss River diagonally connects the Old Tower on the right bank with the New Town on the left.
The 17th century paintings were added on the interior triangular frames of the bridge to illutrate scenes from Swiss history.
Another tourist attraction to visit is the Lion Monument. The dying Lion of Lucerne is one of the world’s most famous monuments and is carved out of natural rock in memory of the heroic deaths of the Swiss soldiers.
Spend your lunch break at any of the al fresco restaurants in Lucerne and enjoy your lunch with a beautiful view of the lake.
Lake Lucerne is the 4th largest lake in Switzerland and you have to take a boat trip to enjoy the stunning scenic views, especially of Mount Rigi and Mount Pilatus.
A boat trip is a great way to enjoy the beautiful region at a slow pace.
