Pack all your belongings and make sure that you have not left anything behind in the hotel room before heading to the airport for your flight departure. The tip is to pack your luggage the night before and remember not to have any LAG (liquid, Aerosol and Gel) that exceeds 100ml in your hand luggage. Next is scan through every corner of the room before checking out from the hotel. My own habit is that I try not to have my “barang barang” (singlish meaning belongings) leaving all over the hotel room
Even as a frequent traveller, I also have my things like make up pouch, glasses, etc misplaced overseas and unable to find it or retrieve back. One of the worst situations that I have experienced myself as an ex flying crew is that I cannot find my make up pouch and I cannot look like I am not wearing any make up for work. Then you have to try your luck by calling the girl on the crew list that you are closer to on the flight to lend you theirs.
Also, seek help from the hotel’s receptionist the day before if the airport shuttle service is available to transport you to the airport for your flight departure.

Take a slow stroll after a hearty lunch along the most famous building in Bern, the Berner Münster is also known as the Bern Cathedral. Climb up 254 steps to the tower and the views over the city is impressive with the Alps appear as a backdrop on a clear day.
Another point of interest to visit in Bern is the Cheese Market. Switzerland is famous for cheese and walking through the Cheese Market, you can see the wonderful display of local cheese.
Your body will be tired after touring in Switzerland for the past few days so pamper yourself at Solbad Schönbühl, a large saltwater thermal spa with different saunas, pools and hammams, as well as massage therapies.
My friend Windy and I took a train from Zurich HB to Neuhausen Rheinfall. The travel time directly from Zurich main train station to Neuhausen Rheinfall is 50 minutes. The Rheinfall is the largest plain waterfall in Europe and along the way, we enjoyed the serenity and picturesque views of the lake.
Comfortable to have the waves of water cooling off your feet when the sun gets too warm.
One of my favorite romance movies is “The Lake House” by Sandra Bullock & Keanu Reeves, a remake of the South Korean file Il Mare. It is my dream and fantasy to stay in the beautiful lake house that is shown in the movie, waking up early every morning feeling the morning breeze of the lake. It will make your soul feel much calmer and more relaxed.
A boat trip to the rock or a round trip in the river basin are simply an unforgettable experiences, marveling at the beauty of nature.
On a bright sunny day, the spray from the waterfalls create lovely colorful rainbow.
The highlight is the climb up the famous rock in the midst of the thundering mass of water and the view from the top of the rock is surprisingly great which you can see and hear the waterfall gashing between the big rocks.
The Rheinfall is one of the world famous natural features in Switzerland and you have to visit this scenic attraction to enjoy the natural spectacle of this nature wonder.
I was here in Rheinfall on August 2012.

The train fare costs about €26 for 2nd class ticket and you can purchase your train tickets in advance from https://www.trainline.eu/. I always try to book ‘forward facing’ seats for long train journey with the reason that I find that it is not particularly comfortable ending up in a train seat that faces backward.
The train ride passes through some of the most beautiful mountains and gorgeous views of the Swiss countryside.
The scenery is simply not to be missed and this is what I adore about taking a train ride in Europe, to admire the beautiful window-framed scenery!
Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL) is one of the world’s best hospitality management school. From Lausanne railway station, I took a 20 minutes metro ride to Croisette and 10 minutes bus ride to EHL. I felt that my sense of direction has improved tremedously when I eached EHL to meet my polytechnic friend Shinn.
This is my friend Shinn and I am so proud of her for being the first student in Temasek Polytechnic’s Hospitality and Tourism Management to gain admission into EHL, which is accepted industry-wide as the best hotel school in the world.
The mountain and gorgeous views of the Swiss countryside make EHL one of the nation’s most desirable and condusive environment to go grad school.
We went to the Old Town, one of the beautiful highlights in Lausanne boasting numerous attractions including historical building and cobble stone streets.
Just strolling around the cobblestone streets and admiring the glory of that beautiful sunset are pleasant enough.
We also visited Lausanne Cathedral, the most beautiful Gothnic church in Switzerland.
The interior of Lausanne Cathedral is Gothic at its most elegant design with beautiful window paintings.
Another place that you have to visit when you are in Lausanne is Lake Geneva. Lake Geneva is one of the largest lake in Western Europe and is shared between Switzerland and France.
Somehow or rather, it feels different to catch up with your friend in overseas and know more about their life. It is also great to know that they are doing well in their own field.
Shinn brought me to have our dinner at Cafe Romand to taste the authentic Swiss food. It was really a lovely and comfortable evening with Shinn and we had so much to talk about ranging from school, work, life, travel, future and etc. It didn’t feel like we have only met and talked to each other for the very first time. Thank you Shinn for hosting me in Lausanne!

The covered wooden pedestrian bridge which crosses the Reuss River diagonally connects the Old Tower on the right bank with the New Town on the left.
The 17th century paintings were added on the interior triangular frames of the bridge to illutrate scenes from Swiss history.
Another tourist attraction to visit is the Lion Monument. The dying Lion of Lucerne is one of the world’s most famous monuments and is carved out of natural rock in memory of the heroic deaths of the Swiss soldiers.

Hihi! This is my second post of the year! Glad that I am making a little progress in blogging. I visited Lucerne about two weeks ago and it is quite a beautiful and small city to visit. I am not sure why I am not taking as many photos like before but I promise I gonna try my best to take more photos in my future trips.
This is Chapel Bridge which is one of the must-see attractions in Lucerne.
There are many paintings on the wooden boards.
I also took a 1 hour boat trip and it is really nice. There are some of the photos I took during the boat trip.
Really really trying my best to type more for this blog post but don’t know why I can’t type as much crap like last time. So anyway, I am planning for a three week vacation to South America next year, probably during Summer/Fall. Having a little difficulties to get the 3 week leave cos I have missed the deadline to bid for my leave and now most of the leave slots are closed. Aaah! So fingers crossed! I should be traveling alone since I do not like to stick to an itinerary or follow someone else’s plans. Wanna cover Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, etc! I have never been to South America and I will love to explore somewhere I have never been. Wooooohoooo! I can’t wait~! That’s my plan for 2015 and in 2016, I might be traveling to Europe with my sister. If she is not going, I might want to go on a Alaskan cruise or explore USA. Oh man… I simply love to travel!
